I loved everything about this production of The Producers. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time! Without exaggeration, one of the best shows I've ever seen.

I had seen the 2001 movie production with Matthew Broderick. Someone told me the older version with Gene Wilder was better - I didn't agree. So, I was excited to see a live version. It started out pretty good. The sound wasn't great from our seats in the balcony, but I could make out most of the words and song lyrics. My wife wasn't familiar with the story so I was worried she wouldn't get the verbal exchanges, which are essential to enjoying the Mel Brooks comedy. I found myself laughing out loud, and noting my wife was doing the same. I knew the story well enough to anticipate each scene. I was particularly looking forward to meeting Ullah (played b Uma Thurman in the movie). The set was great and the scene changes were seamless. The only thing lacking was a few cannon barrels pointing at the crowd. Well Ullah Swanson Hanson Benson didn't disappoint either. I've got to go. It's almost 11 am and my wife is waiting.
